14/01/10 Ben has booked a stall at the The Spring Flyfishing Show 2010 so the word can be spread about the exciting salmon fishing to be had at Palm Springs Salmon. The show is to be held at The George Stephenson Exhibition Centre, Newark Showground, Newark, Notts, NG24 2NY on the 6th and 7th of March 2010. If you are going, come and say hello and have an interesting chat about salmon and salmon fishing.  It says in the flyer that you can come and meet the stars of the sport, so that must include 'Little Nellie' our taxidermied 43lb salmon grown by Ben from an egg.which will be on the stand.

Nature renews itself every year and salmon are no exception. At the rearing unit this takes the strange shape of a polystyrene box which arrived last week from Scotland. Ben had ordered a special batch of eggs from the largest parents he could find, comprising 4 cock fish weighing an excellent 26-31lb and 2 hens which weighed a whopping 40 and 42lb. The rearing unit usually improves on the size of the parents so watch this space, but don't hold your breath, as it we won't know for 2or 3 years yet. (photos to follow)

The visit has happened at last!  Russell, Robbie and Peter from Trout Fisherman visited us, you can read all about it in the December issue of Trout magazine out 4th Dec
